Care For A Disabled Child

Being a parent is a difficult job, even without the complexities of disability. Whether you are looking for one or two days of respite care, or 24 hour live in care, Four Oaks Healthcare are here to support you.

Caring for a child or young person with a disability

When most people think about home care, they envision the elderly. While older people are the core demographic of this form of support, the benefits of home care are incredibly far-reaching.

We have a division of carers who are specially trained in providing in-home care for children and young adults with a disability.

What qualifies as a disability?

Disabilities aren’t always physical. If the following criteria are met, a child is considered, by law, to have a disability:

The child has a physical or mental impairment determined by a medical professional
This impairment results in ‘severe functional limitations’
This impairment is expected to continue, or has lasted for a minimum of one year; or will eventually (and sadly) result in death.

What is in-home care?

Similar to general support services, caring for a child or young person with a disability is all about creating a tailor-made, patient-first framework that promises a rewarding and fulfilled life. Care for a child or young person with a disability centres around ensuring all physical and mental needs are met.

Cost of in-home care?

Whether you are looking for a full-time, live in carer for your child, or weekly support to enable respite and a rebalance in the family, Four Oaks Healthcare has the solution for you. The cost of in-home care, like our support framework, is tailored to put the care-receiver first. Since every situation is unique, our costs have to be the same.

Why Choose Four Oaks Healthcare for In-Home Care?

Lifestyle habits differ from generation to generation, and while some of our 90-year-old patients enjoy listening to classical music alongside a jigsaw puzzle, we appreciate that to a 10-year-old, that would be an alien concept. With this in mind, we make sure that our carers are a good match. Whether the client is sports mad, a gamer, a budding lawyer or journalist, the carer who is allocated to look after your child will be in tune with their emotional, conversational and physical needs.

We have a team of care providers who are especially focused on caring for children and young adults, located in Birmingham and all across the UK. Additionally, all of our employees share our values, including believing that everyone has the right to live an independent and dignified life, regardless of age or ability.
